With its title (nursery school in English) and its little main character, it’s easy to think that Maternelle target children in first place. Wrongfully because this short-film tells us the story of a young boy terrify by his first day in the nursery school. Everything seem dangerous and menacing to him and he will try to escape from this nightmare by any means. The subject is admirably well-addressed with a perfectly integrated horror aspect. The visual aspect is amazing: between cartoon (for the characters) and more conventional 3D (for the rest). The short-film was directed by four students of the Georges Meliès school : Guilhem Salines, Jean-Baptiste Bister, Marine Perraudin and Matthieu Gouget de Landres.
